Methodist Hospitals is one of 100 international sites participating in this major research initiative, and is the first site in Indiana to begin enrolling some of the study’s 9,000 participants. Mamon Powers, Jr., was elected chairman of Methodist Hospitals Board of Directors at the board’s June meeting. Powers, who has been on the board since 2001, replaces William Braman, who served as the Board’s chairman from June 2010 through June 2014 and had served on the board since 1993. Methodist Hospitals’ employees from both campuses joined together in the spirit of the holidays to hold a holiday food drive and provide gifts to children in need. Two Methodist Hospitals LPNs were honored and awarded LPN to RN scholarships to complete their Registered Nursing degrees at Methodist Hospital’s Annual Auxiliary Awards Luncheon. The LPN to RN Scholarship program was started by the Auxiliary in 2011. This year’s scholarship recipients were Keith Leigh and Latoya Haggard.
