Ian E. McFadden

Ian E. McFadden, FACHE
President, Chief Executive Officer

Appointed to the position of CEO/President in September 2008, Ian brings with him 23 years of experience holding senior leadership positions at for-profit and not-for-profit private and public healthcare systems. Prior to joining Methodist Hospitals he held the following leadership positions: President and Chief Executive Officer at Caritas Health Services in Louisville, Kentucky; Chief Operating Officer at Shelby County Healthcare Corporation Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee; Vice President of Hospital Services at West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, Tennessee; Chief Operating Officer for HCA Putnam Community Hospital in Palatka, Florida and most recently CEO for Roseland Community Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to these senior leadership positions, Ian was a Senior Operations Executive for FTI Cambio Health Solutions in Brentwood, Tennessee where he conducted or participated in several hospital turnarounds. During his tenure with FTI Cambio, he served as: Chief Operating Officer for Alameda County Medical Center in Oakland, California and President and Chief Executive Officer for Essex Valley Healthcare in East Orange, New Jersey. Ian is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on numerous Boards of several local and national organizations. He earned his B.S. in Healthcare Management as well as his M.S in Hospital Administration at the University of Alabama. He also holds an MBA degree from the University of Memphis.

Matthew Doyle, CPA
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Matthew joined Methodist in February 2007 as the Corporate Controller and after four and a half years accepted a move to his current position as the Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Methodist Matthew was a Vice President of MCDoyle LLC a consulting company specializing in healthcare turnaround work. Matthew has held numerous key management roles including 5 years as the Chief Financial Officer at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Matthew graduated from Franklin University with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and is a CPA as well as a member of the Healthcare Finance Management Association.

Wright Alcorn, MHA, FACHE
Vice President, Operations

Wright Alcorn joined Methodist Hospitals as Interim Vice-President of Operation in February 2012 and in August 2012 accepted the position of Vice President of Operations. He has over 25 years of experience in hospital and health system administration and operations including clinical and support service operations, service line development and management, new program and business development and regulatory and compliance oversight. Wright has worked at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, and Methodist Hospitals in Houston, Texas. Wright holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
 

Michael Davenport, M.D.

Vice President, Medical Affairs

Dr Davenport became Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Methodist Hospitals on March 9, 2009. Dr. Davenport is a physician executive with deep experience in the CMO/VP role, having served in that capacity for 12 years at Advocate Trinity Hospital, an urban safety-net community hospital located in Chicago. Dr. Davenport earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University with a pre-med concentration. He graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School as a Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Davenport completed his internship as well as his residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He is a member of the American College of Physician Executives.

Michele "Shelly" M. Major, MS, MBA, RN

Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer

Shelly Major became Chief Nursing Officer on November 3, 2008. She has over 33 years of healthcare experience, is listed in the 1993 Who's Who in American Nursing and was recognized as a 2010 Worldwide Leader in Health Care by the International Association of Nurses.  She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International.  Shelly has held a variety of nursing management positions at institutions such as Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Christ Hospital and Medical Center, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and local Northwest Indiana Hospitals. Her professional memberships include American College of Health Care Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders and Indiana Organization of Nurse Executives. Her vision for Nursing at Methodist Hospitals is to be the renowned leader for innovative Nursing Practice and Quality, recognized for achieving excellent patient care outcomes. She is board certified as a Nurse Executive-Advanced and has been designated as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Alex Horvath, MS
Vice President, Marketing and Human Resources

Alex Horvath joined Methodist Hospitals as Vice President of Human Resources in 2011. He has a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations/Human Resources from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. A human resources professional since 1988, Alex served as Vice President of Human Resources and Marketing at Advocate Bromenn Healthcare in Bloomington, IL, for 18 years. He has extensive experience in human resources, communications, physician recruitment and community outreach. Alex also served as Vice President of Human Resources for Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL, and personnel manager for Amsted Industries in Chicago, IL.

James M. Kirchner, MS
Vice President, Physician Integration

James Kirchner joined Methodist Hospitals in 2011 as the Vice President of Physician Integration. He has more than 20 years of experience in physician/hospital alignment and group practice management. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, ambulatory care development and physcian/hospital integration. James has held key management positions at institutions such as St. Joseph Physician Network in South Bend; Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL; Columbia/HCA in Chicago, IL; Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL; and Cardiospecialists Group in Olympia Fields, IL. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Lewis University in Joliet, IL; and his Master’s degree in Health Systems Management from Rush University in Chicago, IL.

Rachel A. Gajos

Executive Director, Guest Services

Rachel Gajos was appointed Executive Director, Guest Services, in March 2009.  In this role, Rachel is responsible for elevating and enhancing the patient and family experience at Methodist Hospitals. Her responsibilities include management of Guest Services Advocates, Associates and Greeters, development and execution of facility improvement plans, and leadership of service excellence programs and teams. Prior to this appointment, Rachel served Methodist Hospitals as interim Vice President, Human resources.

Rachel brings to Methodist Hospitals a perspective gained through human resources experience in a number of industries, including retail, technology, professional services, non-profit and health care and her expertise spans the areas of compensation, benefits, performance management, management training and internal communications.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science – Management degree from Purdue University and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Global Remuneration Professional (GRP). She is a member of  the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and WorldatWork (WaW).

Denise C. Dillard, MPA
Chief Consultant, Government and External Affairs

Denise C. Dillard was appointed Vice President of Government and External Affairs at the Methodist Hospitals in October, 2007, after two years as Vice President of Human Resources. With 28 years in senior leadership, profit and non-profit industries, Denise brings extensive background in public policy, organizational design, strategic planning, performance based implementation and measurements, and negotiations. Has earned a Baccalaureate in Economics and Political Science, Howard University, Washington, D.C., and a Master’s in Public Policy Administration, Indiana University School of Public and Environment Affairs, with Certificate in Negotiations, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Recognized in Who’s Who in Professional Women, Who’s Who in Indiana, NWI TIMES Women’s Leadership, Influential Women in Healthcare Finalist, and Influential Women of NWI 2013 Community Leader of the Year. An international consult on trauma and early responses, experience in cultural diversity and public health issues focus advocacy around disparities and access. Professional memberships include American College Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association, and Indiana Hospital Association.
