Methodist Hospitals recognized registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nurse assistants and surgical technicians during National Nurses Week. Nurses are at the core of quality patient care, they have an increasingly important role in the assurance of high standards of care for the patients. You cannot deliver quality health care without quality nurses. Methodist is fortunate to employ so many hard working and dedicated professionals. National Nurses Week was celebrated with refreshments, contests and awards. Employees were asked to nominate and vote for their peers that they felt exemplified the Outstanding Caregiver Award presented to a CNA or Surgical Technician and the Nursing Excellence Award presented to a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Outstanding Caregiver Award was presented to Bruce Tharaldson, CNA and LaToya Roscoe-Williams, surgical technician, for exemplifying extraordinary care, creating an environment that promotes patient safety and always demonstrating a positive attitude and willingness to work as a team. The Nursing Excellence Award was presented to Nancy Hill, RN and Jacqueline Turner, RN for demonstrating leadership skills, coordinating and collaborating with physicians, nurses, patients and families to ensure the best care possible and serves as a role model to promote a positive milieu for nursing staff.
