When patients come to the Methodist Hospitals Cancer Center for treatment, we not only treat their disease, but we also make sure they are supported throughout their care. Our Cancer Center Nurse Navigators have extensive oncology experience and can assess their needs and help with any challenges.
Nurses serving as patient navigators are members of the multidisciplinary cancer care team and help support/guide patients throughout their entire cancer journey, from diagnosis to survivorship. They are in constant communication with patients throughout their journey and work to make sure they feel supported, ensure that they are receiving timely/appropriate cancer care, and identify/alleviate any barriers to their care.
The Methodist Hospitals Cancer Center offers patient navigation to support those facing Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, Gynecological Cancer and Head & Neck Cancers.
Our Navigators work closely with our patients and our Cancer Center team to promote access to care, coordinate appointments, provide information about what to expect in the days ahead, facilitate communication, support decision-making, access additional supportive resources and more.
