Awards and Recognition
Our neuroscience programs consistently garner acclaim year after year. Methodist Hospitals has been designated as a Primary Stroke Center since 2010, by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), a nationally-recognized organization that has been accrediting healthcare facilities for more than 60 years.
In 2022, Methodist Hospitals, once again, received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes Methodist Hospitals’ commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines established by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Methodist was the first Northwest Indiana hospital to receive this award, and earned it by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients. These measures include aggressive use of medications and risk-reduction therapies aimed at reducing death and disability and improving the lives of stroke patients.
We have also achieved a Multiple Sclerosis Center Designation by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
