Accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care
Methodist Hospitals has earned Chest Pain Center Accreditation by the American College of Cardiology in recognition of its high level of experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who may be experiencing heart attacks. As an Accredited Chest Pain Center, Methodist Hospitals ensures that patients who arrive at the hospital complaining of chest pain or other symptoms of a heart attack receive the treatment necessary during the critical window of time when the integrity of the heart muscle can be preserved.
To earn this accreditation, Methodist Hospitals met or exceeded a wide range of stringent criteria, including rigorous performance standards, and on-site evaluations by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Methodist Hospitals’ state-of-the-art heart care encompasses the entire continuum of care for the potential heart attack patient and includes such focal points as dispatch, an Emergency Medical System, Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Quality Assurance Plan, and a Community Outreach Program.
