I like taking care of people and helping people who can’t help themselves. I’m from Gary. I always wanted to work at Methodist. It’s close to home. I even live right around the corner from here.
And that’s who we care for in the ICU. I’ve worked in the Methodist Hospitals ICU since I graduated from nursing school. At the time, I was hoping I would work with a great team. And the teamwork is amazing in the ICU. It makes every day so much better when you have a good, supportive team. It keeps you coming back to work sometimes. Especially after a rough shift. But this is my calling, and my team needs me.
If you can make it at Methodist Hospitals, you can make it anywhere. I’ve learned a lot working here. You get to experience things that you wouldn’t experience at another hospital. And you’ll be a better nurse.
When I talk to some of my nursing friends at different hospitals, I sometime say to myself, “We run circles around you.” I think if you work here, you can take your experience and go anywhere.
