Diabetes Self-Management Education Classes

Methodist Hospitals offers a variety of programs for patients with Diabetes. Listed below is the schedule of programs in July, August and September:

Diabetes Self-Management Education Classes involve all aspects of treatment education as well as prevention of chronic complications.
This class is held the first three Wednesdays of each month, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Southlake Campus, Pavilion D, 303 E. 89th Ave., Merrillville.
Classes are also offered the first three Tuesdays of each month, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Northlake Campus, 600 Grant St., Gary (meet by booth #5 in outpatient registration).
To register, call 219-738-5802. Classes are covered by most insurance plans, and patients must have a physician referral.

Diabetes Support and Education Group discusses topics related to diabetes.
This program is for persons with diabetes and their family members.
This program is held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Northlake Campus (meet at main lobby), 600 Grant St., Gary, and from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Southlake Campus, Pavilion D, 303 E. 89th Ave., Merrillville.
