Exceptional Programs

Methodist offers a full range of programs for patients of all ages.

Aquatic Therapy

Held in individual or group sessions, the many conditions that benefit from aquatic therapy include fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and post-surgical rehab.

Wound Care

Whirlpool therapy accelerates healing and provides non-invasive debridement. Our staff includes a Certified Wound Care Specialist (CWS).

Neurological Rehab

Stroke patients and others benefit from the use of Neurodevelopment Technique (NDT), where the therapeutic movement of limbs stimulates neural pathways, helping to improve overall physical outcomes. Our staff includes an NDT-trained therapist specialist.

Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)

Individuals who require testing to return to work or apply for disability determination can be tested by a physical therapist specifically trained to use a standardized, internationally recognized Isernhagen evaluation system.

Work Hardening Program

For those who need it, our outpatient Work Hardening Program utilizes the Isernhagen System to help injured or disabled workers make their way back into the workplace. We will simulate the work environment, perform an assessment and develop therapies to help return patients to levels of physical and/or cognitive ability required to return them to work. If allowed by employers, therapists will assess job site conditions and the worker’s ability to perform and recommend workplace modifications.

Bariatric Surgery Support Services

We perform pre-surgical assessments to provide a baseline for monitoring progress, fitness and post-surgery mobility. Patients are assessed for the assignment of a continuing exercise regimen.

Joint Replacement Rehab

We provide therapy to improve strength, mobility, range of motion and flexion after joint replacement surgery.

Hand Therapy

Splint fabrication and other therapeutic modalities are provided to assist patients with hand issues.

Lymphedema Clinic

Patients with lymphedema and/or other edemas can learn proper skin care, diet and exercises, massage, and other compression techniques
