Methodist Hospitals is partnering with Mental Health America of Lake County, Nurse-Family Partnership, Community Healthcare System and Franciscan Health to present the The Big Latch On of Lake County, part of a nationwide synchronized breastfeeding and infant health and education event, which celebrates and promotes breastfeeding.

Women from around the world will be offering support for breastfeeding and for their peers from 9:00 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, August 3 at Indian American Cultural Center, 8605 Merrillville Road, Merrillville. Registration will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. The “latch on” of breastfeeding will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m.

There will be food, refreshments and other family fun activities.
