Methodist Hospitals’ goal is to improve the health of our community by providing exceptional healthcare to the people of Northwest Indiana.

To accomplish that Methodist Hospitals physicians, nurses and staff work collaboratively to improve quality, patient safety and patient satisfaction by constantly assessing our performance, adopting best practices and seeking the best outcomes.

Earlier this year, that dedication and commitment produced four prestigious awards from one of the most respected names in healthcare.

Among America’s Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgery

Methodist Hospitals is one of the nation’s 100 best hospitals for prostate surgery, according to HealthGrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems.

Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions using Medicare data. Methodist ranked among the top 100 for prostate surgery in HealthGrades 2021 survey.

Prostate surgical procedures are treatment options offered as part of Methodist Hospitals’ Prostate Cancer Program, which offers advanced screening diagnostic, surgical and radiation oncology services to men with prostate cancer.

In the same HealthGrades survey, Methodist Hospitals earned five-star ratings for three critical services: coronary bypass surgery, pacemaker procedures and hip fracture treatment.

The HealthGrades analysis revealed that patients treated at hospitals receiving a five-star rating, such as Methodist Hospitals, have a lower risk of dying and a lower risk of experiencing one or more complications during a hospital stay than if they were treated at one-star rated hospitals for that procedure or condition.

“As you might expect, learning about these prestigious awards was welcomed as good news by our doctors, nurses and staff,” said Methodist Hospitals president and CEO Matthew Doyle. “However, it’s even better news for the people of Northwest Indiana, who can be assured that Methodist is delivering quality care to the community.”
