Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU)
Babies requiring specialized attention are cared for in Methodist’s Level 3 NICU at the Northlake Campus. Highly skilled in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization procedures, our staff provides a full range of care to babies of all gestational ages. In the level 2.5 intermediate ICU at the Southlake Campus, growth and development issues are carefully monitored until the babies can make the transition to home.
Neonatal Development Clinic
Methodist Hospitals not only cares about your precious infants while they are patients in our Neonatal Intensive Care Units, we also care for them following discharge.
A Neonatologist, a NICU nurse, a physical therapist and a coordinator, who work together to assess your child’s development and provide physical therapy, conduct our monthly Neonatal Development Clinic. If further intervention is required to promote developmental progress, your child may be referred to programs, such as First Steps or additional physical therapy may be ordered.
Education is also a priority at the Neonatal Development Clinic. Parents are given the tools to help their child develop appropriately. For more information, please call 219-886-4214 or 219-738-5714.
