Self-Pay
Patients who are uninsured or fail to provide Methodist with adequate billing information are responsible for the total payment of their bills. Payment arrangements must be made before discharge.
However, the hospital provides financial assistance applications to individuals with limited resources who need medical care. Our financial counselors can determine if your financial situation and/or illness could qualify you for a public assistance program. In addition to your application, you must submit verification documents regarding income, residency, assets, marital status and dependents. Your cooperation is required in order to receive public assistance. Most of the paperwork can be processed by Methodist and a family member can verify items for you during your hospitalization. This will speed the application process. After discharge, you may be required to have a personal interview with a public assistance case worker.
- Speak with the Financial Assistance Department to determine payment option(s)
- Bring ID Card (insurance card) and Drivers License to Admitting/Registration.
- Submit doctor’s order with diagnosis.
