Northlake Campus, Manager, Behavioral Medicine
I’ve found my professional home at Methodist Hospitals, particularly at the Northlake Campus, where I’ve had the privilege to contribute to Behavioral Medicine. My journey here was somewhat predestined, as I completed my nursing clinicals at Methodist, drawn by its esteemed reputation. Now, I’m proud to say that working here has not only deepened my clinical knowledge but has also enriched me personally.
Methodist Hospitals demonstrates a strong commitment to nursing excellence and professional development, offering support, evidence-based practice, and opportunities for nurses to be part of the solution and to excel in their roles.
To ensure that nurses in my unit feel valued, supported, and motivated, I lead by example, listen to their concerns, and maintain an open-door policy. I believe that true leadership is about inspiring others to do their best and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. As a result, I have adopted a democratic leadership style, valuing input from all team members and fostering a culture of open communication and trust. My presence and availability on the unit show my team that I care and am there to support them.
That management approach aligns closely with Methodist Hospitals’ mission, vision, and values, centered around providing a safe environment for both staff and patients, collaborating with my team to achieve the best outcomes possible. Safety is always our top priority, and I ensure efficient operations by prioritizing safety protocols, maintaining clear communication, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
My personal values of respect, kindness, and compassion align seamlessly with the mission, vision, and values of Methodist Hospitals. I believe in treating others as I would like to be treated, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding, which resonates deeply with the ethos of the institution.
What sets Methodist Hospitals apart, from my perspective, is its unwavering commitment to patient safety, fairness, and excellence. We prioritize not just medical treatment but also kindness and empathy, creating a familial atmosphere that fosters healing and support.
