Our commitment to meeting the emergency needs of NW Indiana extends beyond our hospital walls. Since 1976, Methodist Hospitals has participated in Community Initiatives for Emergency Services. We also make several other contributions that are critical to the effective provision of emergency services in the communities we serve:
Mobile Intensive Care System
We are responsible for and support quality assurance and maintenance of advanced life support systems in Lake and Porter Counties.
National Disaster Medical System (NDMS)
Methodist is part of a network of 850 hospitals that have agreed to accept patients in local or regional disaster situations. We established a Hazardous Materials Incidents (HAZ-MAT) program in 1996 to manage care for victims and providers.
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing/Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Created by the dedicated staff members at Methodist, this program is designed to help emergency responders cope with emotional stress obtained in the line of duty.
