As a young adult, I took care of my grandmother while she became ill. After being her primary caregiver, I realized I had a calling, and this is something that I can do for other people. So, I enrolled in nursing school after she passed away.
It’s rewarding to know that I can make somebody’s bad day, become a good day. People tend to come to the ER on the worst days of their lives, and here I am to help them. I may not fix it, but I make them feel better.
I’ve been at Methodist Hospitals since I graduated from nursing school. I’ve learned a whole lot. I continue to learn. And being a nurse, the past few years has been challenging but still rewarding. The experience and knowledge that you gain working at Methodist is something that you will never gain anywhere else, in my opinion. I have learned so much working at this hospital. I don’t think that the surrounding hospitals even touch what we learn here. We’re able to use all skills. We’ll take care of all patients. I can’t thank Methodist enough for the education that I’ve received here.
We work well as a team together, we our doctors are supportive, especially in the ER. We’ve got a really strong set of doctors. When things get crazy here, we know how to come together and make it work.
As nurses, we have strong, strong supports. We do teamwork really well. The experience that you get from working in this ER is phenomenal. You’ll see things that you’ve never seen before.
