Northwest Indiana Center for Bariatric Surgery Staff
The Center for Bariatric Surgery team is comprised of bariatric surgeons, a bariatric nurse coordinator, an insurance coordinator, a registered dietician, specially trained nurses, behavioral therapists, physical therapists and financial counselors. These caring professionals will guide you each step of the way, answering all your questions and providing helpful information.
If you are a candidate for bariatric surgery, we will help you with insurance coverage issues or discuss self-pay options. You will need medical and laboratory tests, psychological screening and dietary counseling, plus you will need to meet with your surgeon. Methodist Hospitals hosts a series of pre-operative educational classes that must be completed prior to surgery.
Our staff works with you to help you successfully navigate through these steps. Following your surgery, you will continue to receive support, guidance and encouragement as your begin your new lifestyle
Dr. James Siatras
Dr. Siatras is the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Northwest Indiana Center for Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Siatras completed his General Surgery residency with the St. James Health System in Chicago and completed the Bariatric Surgery and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical fellowship at Indiana University Medical Center.
Dr. Siatras’s goal is to deliver the highest quality of care and compassion to the complex morbidly obese patient. At Methodist Hospitals, I am able to use the latest minimally invasive weight-loss surgical advancements to deliver long-term weight management solutions. By providing continued support throughout the entire weight loss process, our patients have the tools necessary for long-term success.
