The Methodist Hospitals nursing department is currently accepting nominations from our nurses for this year’s excellence awards.
Please submit your nominations for any or all of the excellence awards listed below. Please fill out the online forms as completely as possible, by the May 1, 2024, deadline.
The awards will be presented during Nurses Week 2024.

2024 Outstanding Caregiver Excellence Award
CHARACTERISTICS OF OUTSTANDING CAREGIVER EXCELLENCE
- Has a positive attitude
- Is courteous and respectful of others
- Communicates effectively
- Is actively engaged and involved in activities on the nursing unit to give “very good” quality care to our patients; maintains standards of care; and helps the nursing unit grow, develop and strive for excellence
- Is actively engaged with staff on the and members of the multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrates giving “very good”, safe care to patients and their families in a timely, efficient and effective manner
- Demonstrates and promotes effective teamwork on the unit

2024 Friend of Nursing Award
CRITERIA FOR THE FRIEND OF NURSING AWARD
- An employee who is in good standing at Methodist Hospital
- Demonstrates commitment to the mission and vision of Methodist Hospitals
- Exemplifies and demonstrates a positive attitude, caring spirit, builds relationships with members of Methodist Hospitals Nursing Staff and consistently goes above and beyond to support nurses and nursing.
